The dagger of devouring is a fell artifact of alien design. This coral dagger’s hilt resembles a creature with the characteristics of a centipede and a squid, and a wielder hears a cacophonous piping when it is held or used. When invoked by uttering an invocation to Holashner, The Hunger Below, the dagger is destroyed and instantly slays all but the most robust humans within fifteen feet, making it an excellent assassination tool.

It was destroyed by the Shields of the Sorrowfell to prevent it from falling in the hands of The Thought That Waits (or any other unscrupulous party, for that matter).
