Solaeque Purlieu

When the settlement of Solaeque fell to goblinoids 150 years ago, the survivors were scattered in the Solaeque Diaspora. Some landed in En’amanisrahd, while others traveled far to the north to Vonseloth. (It is not known whether the strange and superstitious folk of Nainimdul took any of the Solaeque refugees, but most tales indicate they barred them entry for some arcane reason.)

Those who arrived in Vonseloth found a grand city of eladrin and elves, far removed from their forested homes. The local government granted them a ward of the city as their own, called a “purlieu” in the local parlance, and they settled there. They adapted to the ways of the city — they began wearing clothes and living indoors — but they still kept their traditions and still refused to close their doors to one another. The only thing they were able to save, a handful of seeds from their former home, they planted in the Purlieu’s plaza as a reminder.

Solaeque’s political and spiritual leader is called a nyarmamaitar, typically some manner of ranking druid.
