R-66Y has only ever known the Sentinel. Built after the Sentinel crashed into the Hoarfrost Ridge, R-66Y has apparently suffered some form of programming error, leaving him free to ignore the pressing demands of the ship’s insane computer. While attempting to surreptitiously reach the Command Core and reboot the computer so that the computer’s diagnostic systems can effect repairs, he met with the Shields of the Sorrowfell.

The Shields and R-66Y have decided to travel together in the hopes that they can somehow reboot the computer and stop the tide of constructs and mutants threatening Duchy Jepson.

Incidentally, whether his serial number is coincidental or reflects the computer’s lingering insanity is unknown.
