Summoned by a coalition of sorcerous dark elves, the goddess Kiaransalee is death incarnate, a walking doom astride the surface world. She emerged upon the surface from her redoubt in the Vault of Gnashing Teeth on or around Sunsebb 21, 552 CY, the date of the winter solstice.

Fortunately for the residents of the Sorrowfell Plains and the rest of the world, she was banished from this plane by the Shields of the Sorrowfell, with assistance from Ashurta, Barnabus Sleet, Gloomblight Spellweaver, Moridal Delhig, and Torugar. This event is commemorated as the Battle of Scandshar, and given her defeat, she cannot return to Khaldun for over a century.

A few months later, the Shields of the Sorrowfell infiltrated Kiaransalee’s stronghold at Maldev in Guldor, discorporating her. Given that she’s returned from death before, she is likely not gone forever, but it’s likely that Kiaransalee is banished for a long time to come…
