Millennia ago, before the empires of Men, empires of Goblins dominated the Sorrowfell Plains. Among them was one of their greatest warlords, the hobgoblin Ashurta. After many successful military campaigns, he died and faded into the mists of history.

He returned to the public consciousness when the Shields of the Sorrowfell found his tomb beneath Sorgforge. More prominently, he made a personal appearance at the Battle of Scandshar, summoned forth by the snailstone.
